Jon Taffer is a bar consultant best known as the host of Spike’s Bar Rescue. He’s also author of the book, Raise the Bar. Interestingly, Taffer is credited with conceiving the idea for DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket and originally hoped for a career in politics.

Jon was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.

1. You walk into a bar. What do you order from the bartender?

An old fashioned, every time.

2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

My dear friends Maria Menounos, Neil Cavuto and Rachael Ray.

3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?

The Blacklist and The Walking Dead (even though TWD is in my same time slot, haha).

4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?

A rib-eye steak and add on a lobster tail.

5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?

Fox Business, Spike.com, Wynnlasvegas.com and lets not forget my own site, Nightclubandbar.com.

6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?

Multiple songs by Jeff Beck.

7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable?”

Every selfish and drunk bar owner that I’ve ever encountered.

8. What’s the last thing you Googled?

European driving tours.

9. Dogs or cats?

I love all animals, but if I had to choose, it would be dogs.

10. Best concert of your life was…?

Jeff Beck all the way!

11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?

Raise the Bar, of course!

12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

Being recognized by my peers as a leader in the bar and nightlife industry.

13. South Park or Family Guy?

They’re both funny!

14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?

Since I shoot Bar Rescue 40+ weeks out of the year, I would do absolutely nothing.

15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?

I’m a sucker for movies about American history. Movies like the Ten Commandments and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?

New York Yankees.

17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

Craig’s in L.A.

18. The last movie you saw in a theater?

Fury, Selma, American Sniper and Birdman to name a few.

19. Who was your first celebrity crush?

Jane Fonda as Barbarella or Raquel Welch.

20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?

Since I see him driving around in his silver Ferrari, I would take it he’s a steak man.
